Here I am today, going through some old stuff and I find the drive so I decide to give it another go around. It refused to mount and when trying to reformat it again in disk utility it would give me an error and not work.Since then I stopped using the disk entirely as I was so frustrated with not being able to get it to work. Well, for some reason when I did this it made the drive useless. I originally had it formatted to NTFS and it worked wonderfully, but when I switched over to Mac a year ago I decided to format it to HSF so I could get write permissions to it on my mac. I format it to FAT32 via Disk Utility and BAM. I tried reading and writing to it and it worked great so I decided to remove to stupid bloatware that WD includes in it to make sure this wouldn't happen again.I wanted it to be in FAT32 format since I was planning on using it to temporarily store some mac files to transfer over to a windows computer. Sadly, when I wasn't given a choice of filesystem to format however and it was automatically HSF. I did this, and SUCCESS! I revived a year dead drive.

Tried re-formatting via WD's format tool, disk is ejected before it can be completed. I can't get it to stay connected long enough to reformat it to anything else, so I can't seem to get around this issue. This is INCREDIBLY frustrating since I had just gotten it to work and I suppose got greedy trying to use a more convenient file system.

I'm completely stumped and don't understand how reformatting it to FAT32 could possibly cause it to stop mounting and start ejecting itself automatically. Attempted to reformat via Disk Utility on startup tools (Command+R on boot)Would really appreciate it if anybody had any insight on this.
